Training Jitters

With about 25 days left to the big day, I couldn’t help but check out my mileage since I started out aNR and half-marathons (hence increasing mileage):

October 2010 - 35 km
November 2010 - 40.2 km
December 2010 - 72.8 km
January 2011 - 71.2 km
February 2011 - 56.7 km (as of Feb 22)

It’s actually not that bad; I may actually be more prepared than I previously thought.  My last long run (21km) was last Feb. 6, but I still have my long run (21km race + 10km easy) on March 6.  My diet doesn’t seem to be helping me shed off any pounds, but at least I feel like I’m taking off fat (or maybe it’s just wishful thinking, I dunno).  In any case, I would have to put more faith in myself and just believe it was meant that I take on my first full marathon at this time.  I got a slot exactly one month before — the exact amount of time I felt I needed to take my training to the next level — and at a discount too.  It’s an out of town run, which is one of my qualifications for my first full mary.  It starts at 2 AM — perfect time for me.  Add these to the qualifications that attracts most other people to TBR…it just feels like fate.

Besides, if all else fails, then I can always remind myself that my worst (injured) 10km time clocked in at 1:45, which means eight hours would give me enough time to go on a loonngggg walk…though I sure hope I won’t have to.

TBR Dream Marathon, I may not yet be ready for you now, but in about three weeks I will be :)
